OCASI hosted a webinar on the “Queer Refugee Hearings Program Toolkit”, a resource from Capital Rainbow Refugee. The webinar was organized to assist service providers to better help people claiming refugee protection based on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and/or Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC).

OCASI held a Town Hall for member agencies on the new temporary pathway to permanent residency on May 18, 2021.

The Town Hall was hosted by Debbie Douglas, OCASI Executive Director and featured presentations from:

The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families to help with the cost of raising children. This benefit was introduced by the Federal government in 2016 to help low- and middle-income families with the cost of raising children under the age of 18. While the CCB is an important tool for poverty reduction, it excludes certain children based on immigration status of their parents.

OCASI has long wanted to create a reliable and affordable system that agencies could use to manage their interactions with clients.  That time has come; OCASI introduces the OCASI Client Management System (OCMS).
