After 16 years at Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the Secretariat for the Metropolis Project is announcing that it has moved to new premises at Carleton University in Ottawa. The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) will be releasing an open Call for Proposals (CFP) in early July 2012 for delivery of the Newcomer Settlement Program (NSP) across Ontario beginning April 2013.
The goal of the program is to support the successful settlement and integration of newcomers to Ontario. The program is delivered by a province-wide network of non-profit agencies that assist newcomers in settling and integrating into communities across Ontario.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is expected to issue a national Call for Proposals (CFP) by the first week in August, and an announcement is expected within the next few weeks. Applications are to be submitted online.
OCASI has agreed to facilitate the development of a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document by sharing questions with CIC that member agencies may have about the CFP.
