LOOK + Photovoice Exhibition

Logos of Photovoices and ACASThe Photovoice Project by ACAS empowered East and Southeast Asian PHAs (Persons Living with HIV/AIDS) in Toronto to capture their truths and realities of life, hope and living with HIV. The project was featured in the LOOK Exhibition at the 22nd International AIDS Conference held in July 2018 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Positive Spaces for LGBTQIA+

Logo of OCASI PSICreating Positive Spaces for LGBTQIA+ Newcomers is a FREE facilitated online training by OCASI from August 29th – September 26th 2018. The training will help frontline practitioners working with immigrant and refugee communities who identify as LGBTQIA+(lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual) to better understand the various barriers and challenges they face when accessing settlement services.

OCASI is pleased to announce the launch of our updated elearning website, LearnAtWork.Ca. The site offers greater usability for learners in accessibility, navigation and functionality to enhance the user experience and learning outcomes. LearnAtWork.Ca offers online professional development courses on skills for working with clients. We also offer hosting services.

New IRB Website

The Immigration and Refugee Board has launched a new website. The new site supports access with a mobile device, and is meant to be easier to navigate and find information. The IRB also announced that nearly all Immigration Appeal Division hearing rooms are equipped with videoconference technology. Videoconferencing will be their preferred method to contact a remote witness.

#Rematriation - End Gender Discrimination

Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) is calling on the Government of Canada to end gender discrimination in the Indian Act. ONWA calls on the Government to immediately implement amendments to Bill S-3 adopted by the Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples. Sign the online petition to support the call to end gender discrimination.
