Back To The Future (sounds like a movie - oh wait, it is!)
We can exhale as a sector now that the federal election is behind us and we have at least a month or two before we turn our attention to the scheduled Ontario provincial election in June 2022 and the Ontario Municipal elections in October 2022. I have been asked over the past couple of weeks since the election what I’m hoping to see out of this new Parliament. There is much but the priorities are as follows:
Empowered Diverse Group for Education & Employment (EDGE) is a project by Women’s Enterprise Skills Training of Windsor Inc. EDGE gives young women in Windsor-Essex the chance to build their leadership skills, gain volunteer experience, develop employment skills and learn about Windsor-Essex County.

CCR Fall Consultation
Canadian Council for Refugees Fall 2021 Consultation will take place on-line 29 November - 3 December on the theme of Welcoming newcomers with open borders.
Ontario recently changed all the forms in the Disability Determination Package for Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) applicants. But the legal test that decides whether a person is eligible for ODSP has not changed. Community Legal Education Ontario has a detailed update on the changes to help community workers support their clients' ODSP applications.
The Public Health Agency of Canada has updated the COVID-19 Awareness Tool Kit. It includes videos, fact sheets, social media shareables and other resources to provide information about COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines. A number of the resources are available in multiple languages.

WES Mariam Assefa fund is looking to fund organizations collaborating directly with employers to advance ideas that foster more inclusive practices in the workplace and within sectors, ultimately improving economic mobility for immigrant and refugee workers. Submit a Letter of Interest by November 15, 2021.
Apply to the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities Skills Development Fund. Applications are accepted for projects that can help people and businesses make it through the pandemic successfully. Proposals are accepted until March 31, 2022, or until all funds are allocated.
The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) released a Call for Proposals for the delivery of enhanced settlement and language training services for a five-year period effective April 2022.
