Promising Practices in Refugee Resettlement (Event)

You are invited to join the webinar: RAP-PSR Promising Practices in Supporting Resettlement during COVID-19.

A virtual conversation for the sponsorship community to hear from resettlement colleagues about their experience planning for receiving Government Assisted Refugees (GARs) during the pandemic, and to explore together what best practices we might learn and adapt for our strategic planning for the resumption of Privately Sponsored Refugee (PSR) resettlement.

On Monday July 13, 2020 from 3:00-4:30pm

A collaboration of Allies for Refugee Integration (ARI), the Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP), and with the support of the SAH Council.

Panelists include: Nawal Al-Busaidi (COSTI), Carl Cadogan (Reception House), and Chris Friesen (ISS of B.C.). They will be speaking to the questions:

  1. What are some key learnings about planning for and receiving GARs during the pandemic?
  2. What are some best practices the PSR community could adapt as they plan to welcome PSRs?

After Q&A with our panelists, we will then open the floor to participants to discuss what gaps and opportunities exist for planning for the resumption of PSR resettlement.

We welcome to join this webinar in particular the SAH community, active private refugee sponsors and formerly sponsored refugees, as well as settlement colleagues involved in sponsorship.
